This class will be taught in Spanish, but we will accept applications both in Spanish and English. You do not have to be fluent in Spanish to participate, but you should be comfortable understanding material communicated in Spanish.

About this Class
Ever wondered how civic engagement data analysts use Google Sheets to streamline their day to day power engagement actions? Or what tools they are using for community outreach? More importantly, how does all this expand the electorate, strengthen our democracy, and build power for Black, Indigenous, and other communities of color, other marginalized groups, and working-class Americans?
Introduction to Data Tools is a free, four-day, 12-hour course covering WhatsApp outreach, organizing and working with spreadsheets in Google Sheets, and simple data visualization in Google Data Studio that will help you add data tools to your day to day campaign and community outreach.Students will also receive access to a Q&A session at the end of each day, have the option to complete a final WhatsApp tool assignment, receive feedback, and join our alumni slack network for future job fairs + opportunities.

Time Commitment / Schedule
Introduction to Data Tools in Spanish will meet for 4 sessions from September 27 - October 6th. Course meetings will be Tuesdays & Thursdays from 6:30-9:00pm EST with 30-minutes of optional Q&A time after each course session. Participants should expect to put in 8-14 hours total between formal training and independent work time. Students will have the option to do a WhatsApp-based final project. We’ll accept up to 30 students for this program on a rolling basis, so please apply early to increase your chances of being accepted.
What If I Have to Miss a Class or Two?
No worries. All sessions are recorded. You’ll have the opportunity to watch classes you miss, review slides and presentations, and get the support you need via office hours and our Slack community.
